Liverpool v Man City 21st November 2009 - Match Facts

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Liverpool are unbeaten in eight Premier League matches against Manchester City since a last-minute Kiki Musampa winner for City in April 2005.

• The Reds have won 74 of 136 all-time league fixtures against Manchester City, exactly double the 37 matches won by City.

• These two clubs have met on this date once before, Liverpool winning an entertaining encounter 4-3 at Anfield, in 1931.

Can Manchester City add to Liverpool's woes?

Liverpool

• After seven wins in their opening nine games in all competitions, Liverpool have since won just one of their subsequent nine fixtures.

• A goal for Liverpool would equal a Premier League club record of scoring in 18 straight home games. They set their original record between December 2001 - November 2002.

• Liverpool had 27 attempts on goal last time out against Birmingham, who managed only two, yet they needed a controversial penalty to rescue a point.

Man City

• Man City have drawn their last five league matches, another draw against Liverpool would equal their top-flight club record of six straight draws set in 1913.

• City are two points worse off that they were at this stage two seasons ago, during Sven-Goran Eriksson's year in charge at Eastlands.

• City failed to score in their last away match at Birmingham. It is the only time they have not scored in 14 matches in all competitions so far this campaign.

• If selected, Carlos Tevez will be playing in his 100th Premier League game. He has scored twice at Anfield in the past, both for Manchester United and both in front of the Kop.

Machester City vs Manchester United 20th September 2009

Well, since the 3 match ban for Adebayor, I thought City would not be in a strong position to win this derby.

Sky bet gave me a free £5 bet today, so with Rooneys recent form, he could make me money.

I placed a double: Rooney to score first and final score to be 3-2 to Man U. 70 to-1.

Yes, I hear you City fans, betting on the opposition, but I'm allowed to, as I'm a girl.

How loud did I shout in the first half when City equalised. The only voice in the pub. The red shirts were silent. Second half, and when Man U scored I actually cheered, and even louder when City equalised at 2-2.

One more goal. Just one more goal for Man U.

I forgot how good Given was, parrying goals left right and centre, and eventually I was (sort of) rewarded when Fletcher hit the back of the net.

7 minutes to go, £350 seemingly in my purse. I had promised Fred and Mags a steak dinner. 6,5,4,3,2, and 1 minute to go then outrageous drama at Old Trafford. In the sixth minute of injury time, Giggs plays in substitute Michael Owen, who coolly slots past Given to snatch three points for his side.

Devastated. I would have been happy to lose £350 if City won.

Bloody Owen.
