Machester City vs Manchester United 20th September 2009

Well, since the 3 match ban for Adebayor, I thought City would not be in a strong position to win this derby.

Sky bet gave me a free £5 bet today, so with Rooneys recent form, he could make me money.

I placed a double: Rooney to score first and final score to be 3-2 to Man U. 70 to-1.

Yes, I hear you City fans, betting on the opposition, but I'm allowed to, as I'm a girl.

How loud did I shout in the first half when City equalised. The only voice in the pub. The red shirts were silent. Second half, and when Man U scored I actually cheered, and even louder when City equalised at 2-2.

One more goal. Just one more goal for Man U.

I forgot how good Given was, parrying goals left right and centre, and eventually I was (sort of) rewarded when Fletcher hit the back of the net.

7 minutes to go, £350 seemingly in my purse. I had promised Fred and Mags a steak dinner. 6,5,4,3,2, and 1 minute to go then outrageous drama at Old Trafford. In the sixth minute of injury time, Giggs plays in substitute Michael Owen, who coolly slots past Given to snatch three points for his side.

Devastated. I would have been happy to lose £350 if City won.

Bloody Owen.
